The technology courses offered at Coral Springs Charter High School include Web Design I, II & III and Computer Programming I, II & III.
Course Descriptions & Objectives:
Web Design 1: An introductory course designed to teach the basics of Web Design. Students will learn to use the programming language XHTML to create web pages, and how to create dynamic text and images with Adobe Photoshop.
Web Design 2: Further exploration into the world of XHTML, web design, and Photoshop. Students will apply what they’ve already learned and design a variety of websites. More advanced concepts will be covered including Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and basic JavaScript. Students will also learn problem-solving strategies in a web design/technical environment.
Web Design 3: An advanced course that focuses on building, publishing and maintaining a real working website. While continuing to learn/practice complex web design skills, each student will develop his or her own digital portfolio. The portfolio will be published online, and will serve as a personal biography, resume, and display of the student’s best work.
Computer Programming I: This course teaches students how to use Flash to enhance user experience on the web. Students discover ways in which rich media and animation created with Flash can improve digital communication.
Computer Programming II: This course builds on already acquired Flash skills, and gives students a better understanding of how to use those skills to strengthen communication with interaction and animation. Please contact Mrs. Bowman or Mr. Musillo for further information.
